In 1993 the bike changed a lot, on the outside as wel as on the inside:
- Frame: a y-shape, for more stiffness and lower weight.
- Twin Ram Air System: in stead of a single ram air system. This was done
because the single ram air system could be upset with strong wind from the
side.
- Airfilter: contains a valve that allows fresh air to flow to the exhaust.
This reduces the emission of harmful gases.
- Caster: from 26 to 26.5 degrees, for more stability.
- Roadclearance: from 125 to 110 mm, for better handling.
- Seat height: from 790 to 780 mm, for better handling too.
- Cooling: new radiator with 33% more cooling capacity.
- Disc brakes: from 310 to 320 mm.
- etc.

Why change an already perfect bike, Kawasaki must have thought. Besides a
new color scheme, there aren't -as far as I know- any changes in respect to
the 1993 model.
In The Netherlands the price went up almost as fast as the ZZ-R accelerates
from 0 to 100 kmh. This was, amongst others, a result of an expensive Yen.

In 1995 Kawasaki gave the ZZ-R rider something he had, a long time, been
waiting for: a clock (yes!). In contrast to the price, the color's were
rather modest.
